With a remarkable track record of helping raise more than $350 million, Johnna Wells has built a distinguished career at the intersection of philanthropy, storytelling, and the art of inspiring generosity.
A nationally acclaimed Fundraising Auctioneer, Artist, Advocate, and Public Speaker, Johnna has spent more than two decades partnering with nonprofit organizations, art museums, and foundations across the country to illuminate their missions, ignite generosity, and inspire meaningful change. Her dynamic, soul-stirring approach to fundraising transcends the traditional call to give, inviting audiences to embrace generosity not simply as a transaction, but as a powerful catalyst for connection, community, and collective action.
A second-generation auctioneer with a BFA in Fine Art, Johnna began her professional journey in the world of fine art and antiques auctions, spending several formative years with the esteemed New Orleans-based Neal Auction Company. Her experience at the intersection of art, commerce, and storytelling helped shape the distinctive voice and commanding stage presence that would become hallmarks of her career. In 2005, Johnna earned the prestigious title of International Auctioneer Champion, an achievement that expanded her national platform and led to opportunities as an ambassador for the National Auctioneers Association and an educator within the auction profession. She earned her Benefit Auction Specialist (BAS) designation in 2006 and graduated from the Certified Auctioneers Institute (CAI) at Indiana University in 2007, two of the auction industry's most respected professional education programs. Recognized for her expertise and leadership, Johnna was invited in 2012 to join the National Auctioneers Association's Benefit Auction Specialist Designation Committee, collaborating with industry leaders to redevelop and enhance the curriculum used to educate future fundraising auction professionals. Her commitment to advancing the profession has also included teaching at Reppert Auction School in Auburn, Indiana, and the Advanced Auctioneer Academy in Phoenix, Arizona.

Expanding her advocacy beyond the ballroom, Johnna serves as Executive Producer and Impact Producer of MENOPUNKS, a bold documentary film and growing cultural movement challenging the stigma and systemic inequities surrounding perimenopause, menopause, and midlife healthcare.Through documentary storytelling, music, and unapologetic advocacy, MENOPUNKS amplifies overlooked voices, challenges outdated narratives surrounding aging and gender, and mobilizes a generation toward greater visibility, equitable healthcare, and lasting systemic change. Drawing upon her background in philanthropy, creative collaboration, and community engagement, Johnna brings a distinct perspective to impact production—connecting storytelling with advocacy, building bridges between communities and changemakers, and helping transform cultural conversations into collective action.
